The Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a document that developed for each child who needs special education. The IEP usually includes how the student learns, how the student best demonstrates that learning and what teachers and service providers will do to help the student learn more effectively. For children with autism and children with certain other disabilities, the creation of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is important for them to receive education especially in public school. It is aimed to meet that child’s specific special education needs. Besides that, it sets goals and objectives, describes what services a child will receive as part of his or her special education program in order to improve their education levels and quality of life.
We know that Animal-Assisted Intervention is one of the therapies which is about using animals as intervention to help the autistic children to achieve particular goals. As for the Individualized Animal-Assisted Intervention (IAAI), it refers to the programme that we would create for each child based on his/her preference towards certain animals and own problems to be solved. Of course, we will always take note of the individual’s religion and taboo at the same time. The purpose of creating IAAI is to carry out the most effectiveness of AAI to the autistic children, helps to improve the problems they encountered and even achieve on some goals.
